I am looking for a starter rig so I can hit the fields with yall. I have researched the CA, TM, ICS and they seem to be outstanding guns. The only problem is that money is tight and I can only scrape up $100-$150 for a for an AEG. Now I am not looking to get a p.o.s. I would like something to get me started. I found a JG MP5SD5 etal Mechbox rifle on Airsoft 1 for about $100. I am sure this is not and outstanding rig but would it be enough to get me started. If not, I need to lean on yalls expertiese for a recc. Also does anyone know anything about Airsoft 1 or Atlanta Airsoft. I am going to wear yall out with questions like this. Any help/advice is Greatly appreciated!!!!

My first gun was a Well G3 SAS. Cost me about a $100. It is still working with no mods. I feel it would take a m100 or 110 spring to make it truly effective, but I feel an M120 would be just too much for it. I still loan mine out, and it just keeps working. You could do worse than this gun. However, even though it comes with a 500 rd hicap, extras cost around $40 apiece. Also, DO NOT BELIEVE THE FPS CLAIMS ON LOWER END GUNS. If they advertise a $100 gun at 400 fps, you can bet everyone and their brother would have one. On some guns, even what is on the box is a lie(My G3 was advertised at 360 fps, it actuality, it was more like 240 fps)

a very good starter gun is the double elephant g36k it will get the job done and for only $85, or u could go with the well R6 it is a fantstic gun and will out perform some TM models. the down side is that it isnt a replica and manny external parts from other AEG's dont fit it to well. i have personaly played with both guns and i have came out on top every time, not to mention i was on a hill.

Atlanta Airsoft, or Airsoft Atlanta?
The best thing to do, when it comes to retailers is search for information about them. Lots of sites have sections all about retailer reviews. Don't trust the first review you come across, either. It takes three bad reviews, from different people but about the same thing, before I really believe it. It takes four or five great reviews before I believe those. (Cynical? Who? Me?).
I have personally dealt with Airsoft GI (out of California), Airsoft Atlanta, and eHobby Asia (an ebay seller out of Hong Kong). I have been satisfied with all three. Airsoft Revolution gets high accolades, as well, and I've been satisfied with everything I've bought from them- but I've yet to purchase from them over the internet (yet) [lots of people say great things about their online services, though the selection isn't gi-normous].
Hope that helps.

I have an Echo one on its way for my friend. I am anxious to see how it turns out. Although I think for $150 you could buy a used, stock , tokyo mauri. That will probly get you a battery charger and hicap. You really need to shop around. That way if something breaks you can replace it no prob. THats just my thoughts. I know where a a g36c is with a reddot, battery, and hicap is. Lunarjak on this website is selling it for $150 its not in excellent condition or anything but it aint bad either. Hit him up.
