welcome to the forums! its always good to have another player around in birmingham. There will be a game in weaver on the 10th this saturday. If you can make it there is more info in our "in-state games" section under st. patty's day massacre. If you need a ride Im sure it can be arranged if you are willing to pitch in on gas. Tell us about yourself. What are you into? Why did you get into airsoft? mateba

Yeah, I think I read every single post on here yesterday, lol! Slow day at work. Mongo invited me out on the 10th, and I read about the Oak Mt. stuff on Sundays as well, both are well within driving distance for me, so no biggie. I just gotta see what the situation is like weekend to weekend for awhile, b/c my wife and I are expecting our first child in May, and there's all kinds of family coming to visit at weird times, but if the weekend's clear, I'll try my hardest to show!
As far as myself? I'm 26, married, got a kid on the way (if you couldn't figure that out yet), I actually work literally right across the street from Oak Mt. state park, and I work every other Sunday, so depending on the time things get rolling there, that should be a perfect fit for me.
My interest got piqued by airsoft for a few reasons. One of my friends is huge huge huge into paintball, and always tried to get me to play, but I honestly never cared for it (not bad mouthing the sport, just not my cup of tea). Mostly the gun designs got to me, not to mention the fact that I played with 5-6 different guns the whole time, and couldn't hit the broad side of a barn due to the guns' accuracy issues. The whole thing to me seemed like it maybe wanted to try to be realistic, yet stray for from realism. The idea of military or police/SWAT type simulations always intrigued me, and I stumbled onto some info on the whole airsoft thing, and knew that's what I had been looking for. I also (as nerdy as this sounds) play Rainbow Six on my Xbox, and have a blast with the tactics and firefights, "one-hit-and-you're-dead" kinda gameplay, and in turn looked for something that I could use that would keep me active (not sitting on the couch) yet still enjoying that style of thing.
I went by Dick's Sports in Patton Creek and picked up some $20 pistol, just to see if I was any kind of decent, and to see if I had fun just messing around and firing it, and the more I play around, the more fun I have, and the more I've been challenging myself as far as hitting the target set I got. Beyond that, I have zilch for equipment and experience, but once that tax return hits my account, I'll probably be in the market to buy a decent gun that I could actually get out and play with.
OK, long-winded much? I'm done, and will hopefully be popping my head into a few of the topics, so if I end up repeating any questions, I apologize in advance! See you all around!

Heh, I ran thru (ran? 100+ hours, actually) Oblivion on my 360, that was real fun, and I usually can't stand RPGs. I just can't get R6 Vegas out of my Xbox, though...best game I've played in years.
Yes, we do know the sex...its a boy! (Whew!) We're excited, yet still nervous as all get out.

What up, poeple?
I'm kinda new to the sport, but can't wait to jump in. I have about 6 guns since picking up the hobby 3 weeks ago. I picked up 2 gun kits(shotgun & pistol) at Academy Sports. I also ordered 2 AKs from Hobbytron. They weren't bad for 8 bucks. Butt I'm really looking for people as enthused about it like me. I have shoot outs with some of my friends. We even have night battles where we turn off all the lights in my house and it'e every man for himself. I'm in the Midfield area. Hit me up if you guys are interested in competing. I also want to take this out of state.
