Operation Ill Wind www.TNairsoftEvents.comLewisburg, TN (55 miles south of Nashville, TN – 60 Miles North of Huntsville, AL) Nov. 4th, 2006 0700-1700 Open Registration starts Oct. 1st, 2006 Event costs $25, including a subdued operation shoulder patch. Size of forces: 40 – US Rangers – US Woodland uniform 12 – US Special Forces – Tiger Stripe uniform 52 - Nigerian Army – All camouflage uniforms patterns except US Woodland or Tiger Stripe To register or for any questions please visit our website: www.TNairsoftEvents.comOverview: State of Borno, Nigeria, West Africa The Bornoian leadership have finally had enough and decided to break away from the troubled nation of Nigeria to form the nation of Borno. Nigerian Muslims have vowed that the new nation ‘shall never see the light of day’. Ordinarily the United States would stay out of the matter, but NSA signal intercepts indicate that the Nigerians have acquired two canisters of BA-PP3/I anthrax from the former Soviet Union and they are planning to release the bio-agent against the Bornoians. The United States already has a Army Special Forces A-team operating inside Nigeria and they have been ordered to cross the border into Borno. US Special Operations Command (USSOC) is mobilizing the 75th Ranger Regiment to support the Special Forces A-team in suppressing the overwhelming Nigerian incursion. Will the US stop the Nigerians from oppressing the Bornoians? Will the Nigerians be able to bring the Bornoians back into the fold? You decide! Join the fight. Register now!

That looks, awesome- so far. I like how you have the "serial" numbers for the anthrax- makes it seem more real, somehow.
For those too lazy to hit the link:
Full seal goggles, no mesh or shooting glasses.
All airsoft weapons will be chronographed using Excel .025g BBs.
Players may use any weight BB during the event.
All airsoft weapons will be marked by the event staff during the chronographing process.
Players must leave the marking on their airsoft weapons at all times during the event.
A portable water hydration device such as a camelback or canteen is mandatory gear for all participants.
Standard Limits * Includes all pistols, shotguns, and standard AEGs * Limited to Low, Medium, and High Cap Magazines. * 15 foot minimum engagement distance * FPS limits (Using .25g BBs) * Green < 365 fps * Yellow 365 – 375 fps * Red 376 > fps

They have pictures of their field, on the site, under Overview.
It says: "Operation Ill Wind will be a Military simulation airsoft event. The event field is approximately 100+ acres of woodlands located in Lewisburg TN. Lewisburg is centrally located 55.5 miles south of Nashville, TN and 56.5 miles north of Huntsville, AL just off I-65. Food and hotel are located 10 - 15 minutes away. Arrangements have been made for an event camp site for players coming from out of town. Bus Vans will be shuffling player to the event from the camp site on game day. "
Also, note this: "Although this event is designed for regular airsoft players and the terrain is fairly flat it will require each player to be ready to exert a large amount of energy through out the day. Players will be expected to pack in everything they need during this event including food, extra batteries, extra BB's etc. Water will be provided at each sides FOB, but you will need enough in your camelback to get through the first 1.5 - 2 hours. You should consume 3500+ calories (may very due to individual size and body weight). "
There is, also, some mission information on the site.
{If you're interested in going, please go read their rules, and other info- this is just a primer of things I know most of us wonder, right off the bat when we think about going somewhere. }

Okay, this proves I am ancient. The post about physical fitness actually scares me.
Sounds like fun though. The scenario sounds killer.

Seems very lopsided, preferentially speaking. I suspect few players will volunteer for the Nigerian forces side. Just my 2 cents....

Believe it or not, we're more worried about the Rangers filling up at this point...
We already have 26 people signed up for Nigerian side, and most likely most of the other attending Nashville teams will go that way too (most of the teams up here are wearing something other than Woodland)....
Either way, we'll even things out, and it will be a fun event for all those involved.

The good news is the weather is cooling off, and a cheap pair on ansi goggles will do fine for most people.

Hey Jayc,
My son and I would like to consider participating in Operation Ill Wind. Problem is, he is 15. If you need any confirmation whether he is able to play airsoft in a responsible manner feel free to ask Mongo, Mihel, or the guys from the BB Gun Militia. He played in Iron Justice and more than held his own. We live in Huntsville and it would be nice to have fairly close event to go to.

OK guys, we're halfway to our goal of 104 people attending Operation Ill Wind, I know we've spoken to a number of teams over the last couple of weeks who have expressed an interest in attending Ill Wind, hopefully you'll be able to attend if you wish.
If you want to get your patch mailed to you before the event, we must have your registration and payment by 11:59pm Friday Oct. 20th, 2006. So one week from today, this will give us plenty of time to mail your patches out to you so you can attach them to your uniform before attending the op.
We will close all registration at 11:59pm on Oct. 27th, 2006, if you want to attend Operation Ill Wind you must have both your payment and your registration in by then. The reason we must set a final date on player registration is because we're purchasing water and other items that weekend for use in the op.
Again, if you want your patch before Ill Wind you must register by next Friday, Oct. 20th.
If you want to attend at all, you must register by Friday Oct. 27th.
Again, any questions feel free to post them in the forums, or email us at admin@TNairsoftEvents.com

Ok guys, just a quick note, the Nigerian side is completely full, we're looking for another 16-20 Rangers to fill up that side... This is going to end up being a great event, so if you're on the fence, please consider giving it a try.
