Hey all Got my CA CBQ M4 variant yesterday. I am really stoked. I got it through Airsoft Revolution ( www.airsoftrevolution.com ) from our good friend SkiDude. I must say, the extras on this gun make the value incredible. When I was deciding what gun to buy, Prometheus put me on this gun, because of these extras. Let me run the basics down. Front Rails and RIS-gods know how much these things cost, have seen them up to $120. Crane Stock-Again, seen them for $60-100 bucks, though I feel this Crane Stock is on the low end, it still takes a large battery, and works fine. Flat top with Raised sight-Like this feature okay, but traded the raised sight to Mihel for a carry handle, as I like the carry handle better. Upgraded gears, motor, gearbox, piston, piston head, bearing bushings, man the internals on this gun are really incredible. After adding a PDI170 spring, the weapon fired at 385fps solid, with great range and accuracy. The retail price on the gun was $410. For everything that comes with and on the gun, this is a steal. I will write again after I get to use it in Chattanooga this weekend. M

yea, yea, those are great. love mine to death. the wife made me start keeping it in the storage building.
Bearing; gearbox, piston head, & spring guide. The motor is a high tourqu, the gears are hard, the cylender is sealed, and the wireing switch is of higher quality as well. great bang for the buck, dogsoldier has gotten another and is gonna throw an extended tightbore in it, and a silencer. should be sweet, but I could not ask for more range at our field. always could use it but this thing shoots better than the CA M15 Rifle I used to have.
so, is your hop-up adjustment wheel loose? take out that screw and put a .02 shim ontop of the wheel and under the screw. will tighten it right up. thats the only thing wrong with the CA m15s. can not wait to get shot with it......if you can

Quandry: Is a CQB with a silencer, and an extended tightbore, any shorter than a fullsize Rifle?

maybe, I guess it would depend on what silencer you use. there are short ones. alot of guys are putting M4 length inner barrels in them. so, with a long silencer, it very well may be as long as the rifle.

An M4 inner barrel isn't as long as the full-size inner barrel. So I suppose your first sentence stands. But still, it seems sorta antagonistic to extend the length of a CQB; or is that just me?
[Not saying i wouldn't do it, but you get what I'm saying?]

I get what your saying. With a silencer and internal barrel lengthened it turn a CQB rifle into a full size assault rifle....
CQB rifle + silencer = redundent ;D

the m4 or m15 carbine barrel is a bit longer than the CQB's, aprox 4-6 inches. alot of the fullsized sillencers are 8 inches. put an m4 length inner barel in a CQB and the inner sticks out a bit. slide an 8 inch foam filled silencer on there and you have an short silenced m4. even though the inner covers up alot of the foam in the silencer, the silencer still will dampen the sound. follow?

it very well may be as long as the rifle. ow, I see. I miss typed. I should have said that a CQB with a long silencer could be as long as a rifle, but think it would be closer to an M4's length. CQB compact=200mm/8' CQB= 280mm/11' M4 = 363mm/14 3/8' M16= 510mm/20' so if you had a 9 inch silencer yea, it would be the length of the rifle. but as you see, adding the m4 inner barrel, you add approx 25% inner barrel length. so with a 7inch silencer, there would still be 3 5/8' of silencer foam being exposed. some people want a carbine but don't want to pass on this great deal. for those who want a silenced M4, this is the way to go for sure. still has the look and sound of a long silencer, but as manageable as putting an ugly short silencer on a full sized M4.

big geoff here in chattanooga got himself the new CQB compact and brought it over for upgrades yesterday. I must say I am impressed with the differances in the 2. the charging handle is a bid differant, and there is a channel all the way out the back, so the spring will not get over extended when breaking down the AEG. also, the RIS is a little larger in dia., not the rails them selfs(the top rail still lines up with the upper receiver's) but walls of the fore grip are larger, and the ring holding the front end on is slimer. same old gearbox jam packed with bearings and other goodies. the CQB compact SEAL version is 15 bucks more and has a tri rail out front wiith a detachable front sight. both compact's come with a nice flip down rear sight that takes an allen tool to remove, and has a 4 aperature 300-600meter adjustment. very solid overall as usual.
geoff had me install a Guarder 120SP,and a madbull tight bore. also had a hell of a time with the vertical grip. had to convince it to go on due to the oversized foregrip and the UTG ergonomic grip wasn't letting the motor set right, so I put the stock grip back on till I figure out whats up with the rubber pistol grip. with a barrel length of 200mm , he could only find an mp5 length of 236mm?. dosn't stick out past the end of the flash hider, and since it is black you don't even notice it. I didn't shoot the AEG before the upgrades were done, nor did Geoff, but his compact with the fore mentioned inner barrel was shooting on par with mine with a 280mm stock barrel.
very nice, I would not hesitate to get the compact since it cost less than the standard CQB(as if anything about the CQB is standard) even the CQB compact SEAL is less at $385.

got a chance to shoot a stock CA compact this weekend, and I must say that I am disapointed. so if you do plan on getting this AEG do get a tightbore right off the bat. it has a 200mm stock, but the 236mm? will work fine with the stock flash hider. sog grunt is going to go with an m4 length inner and a silencer.

Be sure to see Rabbit's customs...most of them are based on CA CQB's. He's done a ton of work in/out. I like the CQB versions, as their quality inside the box is better, but I like a longer rifle.

After deciding I need a new gun...I've came to a conclusion of 2 that I'm checking out.... The CA M15A4 CQB like Mongo's or the Seal CQB that A-R had the game on the 16th......I'm leaning towards the one like mongo's and I figure it, battery, silencer (maybe) and a spring should bring me to about $500-$530 mark for it and the SEAL within the $500 mark. Mongo, give me input on yours.....Should be going after one this week with a lil help/info on the best choice
