Ok me and a friend have CA M4s (stock). We want to upgrade the springs to 400 FPS. We want to know how to do this b/c we don't want to FUBAR our AEGs. Please respond with step by step instructions if you can! Thanks

For 400 fps all you need is a systema m120 spring and a 9.6v batt. That should do it, and the CA stock gear set will handle it for quite some time. I have a CA m15 CQB, and that did the trick for me.

I did the PDI 170% in my CA m4 and getting a tightbore and that should be in the 400 range.

Did some better research....The M120 and the PDI 170 are almost the same in FPS...from 375-405 depending on gun setup. The PDI springs are not as tight a spring to compress as Systema springs but give near same results. The PDI spring is easier on gears that are stock where the M120 it will take better quality gears in order for them to last. CA now install reinforced gearboxes and high grade gears in their guns like the CQB and the M15a4's and will easily take on either spring with no problems to the gears but like mongo said the 9.6v battery is a must.

The biggest thing is to make sure you have a 4th generation CA. It's more complicated to do this upgrade if you don't.

by generation you are refering to the "A4" as in M16A4 or the like

That is correct. It's not actually their fourth generation; but they call it an a4, so it gets called 4th generation.

The PDI 170% springs are very popular upgrades for M4 CA AEGs.
