I give them a 25% out of 100%! Don't waste your time. The Compass Bank locations I've been in- not many- were usually very unkept, and crappy looking. That's the least of their troubles. Let's start with the good: - Free Checking Account
- Lots of Locations
- Reimbursed ATM fees
And the Bad: - The hold checks till the next day- even payroll checks!
- There's a limit on the ATM reimbursment
- They charge you $36 for every overdraft, and every time you charge after you've overdrafted, and every day you're in the negative. So, if you go $0.01 in the hole, they charge you $36. Then you charge a pack of gum, say $0.30 (after tax), so they charge you another $36. The next day you deposit $100 in your account, but they've already charged you an additional $36 for having a negative account balance that day (which puts you at -$108.31, and after the $100, puts you at -$8.31).
- No branches open for more than four hours, on Saturday- and they tend to be open in the morning when you're still sleeping off Friday's buzz!
- Fees for checking your account balance too many times during a period.
- More locations than the Ma' and Pa' bank down the street, but less than any of their major competitors!
- They fucked with me!
