I'm dealing with these particular guns because I know them the best. The CA Hop-up sucks. It will ease back throughout the day and you will constantly need to give it small torques one way or another. This can be fixed by adding a small washer behind the adjustment gear. However, that doesn't always fix it. The hop-up bucking, and nub that comes with the CA is very good, in my opinion. There is no real reason to replace either of those- again, in my opinion. I have been trying a hard-nub, inside the Hop-up, and have found it is horrible, with a tightbore barrel. It causes jams, and misfeeds, and all sorts of crap. Don't try it, learn from my stupidity. ;D I will be replacing the entire Hop-up, and the nub, of my CA M15a4 in the next three months, and I'll let you know what I figure out. As always, take a look at this great site, for a bunch of information you probably never even thought to care about: www.airsoftmechanics.com/

Historically, the CA M15a4 hopup is shite. You're the first to mention a noise. However, the backing-off problem is well documented. Maybe you lucked out and got one that doesn't back-off during the course of a game. In that case, awesome.

pull the screw holding that adjustment wheel down and put a shim in, under the screw before replacing it.
this solves the problem you speak of every time.

Buy a G&P hopup. Works like all airsoft products good enough.
