Tips? Don't be ashamed/mad to call it when you get killed. Don't fly off the handle if you think someone else isn't calling their hits.
If you do both those, and come out to have fun, you'll be great.

Hell, I go by odenville everyday. I work in Pell City and Oxford. I can't really understand your hesistancy. However, I can give you these tips.
Move quietly and slowly until someone sees you and starts firing you up. Then haul ass, hide, return fire.
When you get hit, yell "DEAD" really loud. Otherwise you will get bonus shots.
Safety first, if you think someone is too close, shoot them anywhere but the head.
Now, understand, we decided about five months ago we wanted to play airsoft. We didn't really understand how the game had spread, we just envisisioned a bunch of local guys we know getting together and playing once a month. Man, has that changed. From my tallies today, it looks like we will have around 25 folks this weekend, and after getting burnt once, I am conservative on numbers. I guess what I am trying to get across is that we are ALL new here locally, but that doesn't mean we are not welcome to play at other places. Hell, they love having new targets. You will have no real understanding of what goes on until you participate. No video game, or even paintball will prepare you. You just have to get out, shoot some folks, and get shot.

If you're under 18, you'd need a waiver signed by your parents, too.
