Hey all
The one year anniversery of the AAV is coming up in April. I would like to have a blowout game, getting our friends from all over the state, nashville, and chattanooga to attend. We sould have some more stuff developed field wise by then, but I would like to get some ideas of what our anniversery op needs to be based on. We should be getting a break in the weather soon, so we can plan to carry on into the darkness. If anyone has any ideas, or if the Steel City guys would like to run this event, or if anyone besides Mihel or I would like to run this event, please, please, please step up. I would be more than glad to help in anyway I can, but I just would like for someone to step up and get the experience of running a large event. If we can get the game up and advertised, then we should have a great, great game. However, I would like to begin forming the op and advertising as soon as possible. Any ideas are welcome, and we can establish an "op committee" if needed. Basically, until we define the op, we don;t know what kind of specific work the field will need, props, etc. So, get you thinking caps on, and if you are interested, please shoot me a copy of what you would like to do, and we can go from there. Ideally, to spread the burden as much as possible, we need AAV members to split responsibilities in a couple of categories.
Administration: These are the guys that will handle registration, chrono, printing maps and pamphlets, getting people to approved camping areas, etc
Scenario and Combat Arms: These are the guys that will determine what needs to be done to the field for the OP, the Briefings of various factions, placing spawn points, getting props and things in place, assigning refs if needed, and the ever popular COMMAND AND CONTROL if the op order needs c and c. (Anything more complicated than go over there, get this, and blow them up needs c and c and is hard to do)
Okay, get those thinking helmets on, and get back to me. We need probably 5-6 weeks lead time for the op, to make sure we have time to get everything that needs done done, and get the word out.
I await you
