Ok, guys this would be a while away because we still have alot to do to our field before we host a game. But how do you guys go about planning your ops and coming up with the scenarios. Steel City would like to do an Op and have you guys come play with us a some point in the near future. Maybe at the Beginning of Summer. But I need some advice about how to go about planning it, so we know how much we will have to get done.

I think we will have to open up the right sight of the field. The area to the right of Stalingrad. I will have to be big. I will go on Google maps and get a aerial shot of the terrain.

Yeah, the only problem i forsee is potentially parking and the amount of land we have, but it also means alot of close contact gun battles which are always fun.

you could have more than two forces. this should split up a mass unit and encourage more spurratic fie fights. this was done in operation bay of pigs 2.

Here are a few of the things I have learned.
Keep it simple, keep the flow of the game moving. Sometimes that requires command and control, sometimes it just means having all the elements of the mission ready to go.
A real world political scenario lets the players have fun playing as various factions. It also gives the mission focus, and helps define the objectives.
Spawn points are a pain in the ass. We have tried medic rules, we have tried floating spawn, we have tried what we are doing now. Here is the rub..
If you have a team that goes through the mission without the need to hold ground, say your are inserting an A team to destroy a sight. Well, since they hold no ground, how do you respawn them? Medic rules didn't work. We tried, someone always had a problem. We tried floating spawn, but that takes players out of the game, since someone has to be spawn officer. See the problems. Spawn points are always tricky. Depending on the field, you may have to walk quite a ways to respawn, and that gets old after a while. And of course, if your spawn ends up in the middle of a combat zone, that tends to suck. So you have to really think about that.
Registration, waivers and chrono. You got to have someone to make sure folks get signed in, waivers signed, weapons checked. You must check eye protection, and all of that also. You have to make clear if there is power available, water, etc. The list just keeps going. So, how about this
One of you guys go through the process with me when we run our anniversary game. I will keep you up to date on what we are doing, how we are doing, and all that goes in from start to finish. I will be glad to give you responsibility and accountability, and let you run any aspect of the op you would like to run. I will be happy to do so, just step up and let me know, we are doing our scenario planning on Sunday. That gives us a date for the game, the type of game, and what work the field will need to accomodate the game. It will also allows us to send out an event flyer to everyone we know, and begin promotion of our game. So, let me know if anyone is interested.

Ok. Will do. That will be something we should think about. We can do water thats not a problem, Power will be though, and a Chrono. We might as well do a gigantic capture the flag game. That would be sweet.

yeah...simple stuff like king of the hill, capture the flag, tag games, etc. are best to start out with.we had a game in NW florida once where one of the games was where we devided up into 2 man teams, about 7 of those, and started at different corners of a large 20 acre pasture.then it was simple elimination, group against group, until only one guy was left...it didn't sound like much at first but it ended up being the most intense, fast paced game of the day... the main point is keep it simple to start....save the convoluted, multi mission/objective type game for when you get a bit more established....
