They are China clones. Cheap materials. They probably find ways around the copyright or patent laws by building them in certain countries. but i am not sure.

cheaper materials?....uh..ok...they are one of the many re-branded chinese made copies of mauri and other major brand's guns..an example would be the matrix/AGM/etc. copy of the TM m14...good gun shoots 330 out of the box..wood pattern on the stock is much better than the mauri cheap laminate.or the cyma cmo28 AK47 clone....well built, shoots really well but the stock mag sucks so i got a TM hi cap for it..well priced replicas that work well for the average player is the bottom line.... copywrite laws are not always transferable between nations..and many asian countries don't accept each other's pattent laws in actual practice.it is only when things get over here that the litigation ensues..a'la cybergun's suits against everyone that won't carry their guns, etc.

So you think they do or dont use cheaper materials? I with personal utg experience, think there materials are way inferior to TM. Dont get me wrong, I loved my utg mp5 but the materials and craftsman ship of the utg is not even camparible to a tm or ca.

If you dont want to spend as much money and you plan to leave the gun stock, go with tm. If your not on a budget go with CA cause of the metal body and preupgraded internals. I favor CA but thats just me.
and im gonna have to agree with rook on this one, as with all china clones, they are made with cheaper materials overall to cut cost so that the consumer can be provided with a lower price tag.

From experience...buy what you can afford...training and skills are free to learn. I can speak for Savoy and myself...he and I both have been playing way longer than most on this board (not bragging stating fact) and over the course of our run..I can honestly say I've been hit by everything from a cheap chinese clone, to a springer. Additionally, I've gotten K's with the same line. The best investment you can buy is taking the time to read reviews and ask questions....but more importantly listening. Airsoft is about finesse...you wanna tune something...buy a rice rocket or a civic.

It's a japanese motorcycle/import street race car. The Matrix brand (from my experience) is a catch all term used by evike (and a few other retailers) when they don't really know what it is. The "cheap" part is from inexpensive labor and IMHO a cheaper grade metals. Nothing really bad about it, Hell, I use a utg m14 as my primary weapon now, and a echo1 m4 as a backup/loaner. The CA gun stays in the closet!

Metals are definatly cheaper. But really I think we've seen just as many TM mechboxes break as we have china clones, or more.
