i think my back up gun will be a gas pistol. i like the compact design, the realism, and the power that they have to offer. i want to know what kind of gas pistol that you guys think is effective best with in 75feet
also should i get a green gas red gas or C02 cartridge pistol

Gas depends on the gun, some use green and some 134...CO2 can be ok but takes more time to change the cartridge. As far as pistols though, it's basically your preference but I have 2 G17 GBB's (green gas) and they are pretty cool and shoot pretty accurate with a fps of 320-330. If you were going to invest in a good gun I'd go GBB that uses green gas, get a propane adapter and buy the camping propane from wal mart for $4.50 for 2-1lbs cans and $1.50 for silicone spray. Saves money in the end.

The adapter screws on to a propane bottle and has a nozzle that can fill up gas clips, you can get them on most airsoft websites. They are about 30$ plus shipping. Propane is nothing but green gas minus the silicone to lubricate it, hence the extra bottle of silicone spray. Just spray a little in the gas clip nozzle, fill up with propane and *whoala* cheap green gas.

you'll have a MED 40ft AT LEAST. think about it would you like some one to shoot you 15ft away with that? you will be bleeding. Look around the 300fps range for a pistol, that is if you plan on using it as backup.

Yeah, Pistol size doesn't necessarily mean lower power. I have CO2 pistols that I can't use under 50 ft. and shoot harder then my AEG's. Just ask yourself, would I like somebody putting the muzzle of this gun 5 ft. away from me and unloading a magazine? Assuming your not a masochist (=you like pain alot...like WAY too much), you'll figure it out real fast that a mk1 is dangerous in pistol form.

If you can hit anyone with it that is...but never the less they are Mateba and Tripps are absolutly right. You have a sniper as your main weapon correct? A "backup" pistol should be used if people get within too close a range for you to weild a sniper effectively, or if they get inside your MED. So you should really look for a lower, like around 300 or so fps, pistol so you can you it in close quarters.

yeah your making alot of sense. i found a couple of good 320 fps pistols to use i will get them. i also want to get some gear put on it so that i can get a silencer and maybe a light.
i think by the time I'm done fixing up my pistol i will have an good balance between long range med and mid range combat.
which brings me to another question. which pistole is accurate at about 50-70 feet?
also need to know where to get the adapters

you should assume that any shots with a pistol will be within 10 paces and thats assuming you can make the shot. Most handguns are designed for personal protection which on average is about 7ft or 2 meters . in airsoft we use pistols not only because they are cool, blah blah blah, but for one distinct advantage. You don't have to worry about the bang bang rule when MEDs have been broken. with a pistol, i believe, your MED is 10 ft which leaves room for a knife kill but not much . Not in any particular order but things you might consider looking for in a airsoft pistol; 1) learn to use a pistol (ideally, defensively), different stances, gripping styles, carry positions, shooting with both eyes open, flinching and blinking, stress fire and the list never ends but I will. like in real life a gun is just a tool. 2) green gas compatibility, means your gun can run Coleman propane safely. 3) "ready" ammo capacity, 30 shots to a magazine is almost nothing but each one helps. most do not carry that much and you should give a serious consideration to how helpful 3 and 4 magazines will be if this is just for protection. you probably wont have a chance to reload (tip #1!). 4) accuracy of the gun is a concern but it shouldn't be your first consideration it is important. aftermarket parts can help though. 5) FPS, i find myself looking at this first and basing a judgment, sometimes solely on this. 275-330 is a good range, getting on the high side of 330 can cause some complaints especially with such short distances. Remember last weekend when you shot Alex in the chin after he knifed you, that left a pretty good mark. If I had to guess that gun wasn't even in the FPS range we are discussing. i hope this helps but if you want to do some of your own research you will more than likely find more on tactical training on the net about handguns (especially defensive handgunning) than you will on any other weapon. Any liturature by Massad Ayoob, Capt. W.E. Fairbairn and Capt. E.A. Sykes is gold.

My preference is the Glock 17. I have 2 of them,4mags,a threaded barrel, Kings Arm silencer, upgraded recoil spring and a kings arm Laser setup. The G18c are full auto

I wouldnt get anything will full auto because it just puts unneeded wear on the gun. Full auto is cool at first but then it just becomes a hassle and there is no real situation where you have to have full auto.
