Welcome all
The idea has been proposed to organize the state into a loose confederation of teams who adopt and play by the same rules, with the same goals and mission in mind.
The way I see it.
We meet, those that would like to, for no other purpose than to iron out a rules set. Experience has shown that we do not need to do this at an op, as time is of the essence there.
We can meet for free and camp at Daves whenever you guys want. If you want to come build stuff and meet, that is even better.
I would like all teams participating to know that once we have the town built at Dave's, other groups will be encouraged to host ops there.
I don't think we should discuss the rules here, just discuss the agenda of the meeting.
These are just my opinions, feel free to disagree.

No disagreement here. My boys and I want the same as you. Our ambitions line up.
A building / meeting sounds good.

Kudos,
When we finally put down solid rules in MN things really exploded for the organization (the M.A.A.). Drew a lot of people around the org and allowed it to be a driving force for safe, honorable, and sustainable play.
I'm more than willing to offer input, advice, experience, or just be a sounding board.
You have no idea how much things improve when you get this going.

How about this guys. Next weekend, we could meet on Saturday, put up a building or something, and have our meeting. We can do a potluck dinner, Something simple, I will provide hamburger and buns for burgers, So, the next thing is an stated agenda for the meeting. So, first of all, we decide on a name. Just get them ready, we will discuss them. Mission is obvious, to organize the state to a standardized rules set. Web page information to be posted. Reporting for events Decide on the administrative post needed, their titles, and voting on said administrative positions. What three thousand things did I miss? M

Let's plan the meeting for Saturday, June 2nd. If you can come on Friday night, do so, and we will have a short meeting. So
Alabama Airsoft Volunteer Organizational Meeting, Saturday, June 2nd.
We will meet at 10 am Saturday morning
Break for lunch at 1
Resume at 2
Break at 5 for supper if needed, pot luck, I will bring burgers and buns, if you want to eat, bring something like
drinks, chips, beans pie
Please plan on staying the night, as we might need to meet again Sunday morning. If we don't need to meet, then we will build a building, and shoot each other out of it.

Yeah, a meeting? Im gonna have to go ahead and ask that you forward all the T.P.S. reports to all 6 managerial staff here, and oh, there's that stapler. mmmkay....Thanks a bunch Milton. And on a more serious note, I should be able to attend said meeting, I have no idea if i will be able to put anything logical or needed into said discussion, other than random movie qoutes or bad jokes. But I can at least help with building. And shooting.

This is a great idea. I gotta throw it out there, but with the thought of staying the night, this sounds more like a 'summit' than a 'meeting'.

Sounds great! June 2nd...we will get someone there too!
I have really been interested in this as well. A common set of rules for the state would be awesome since over the summer my work will take me to Mobile...look out TFAT!!!!!

Okay guys,
As you know, I am involved in a major building project, and I am also involved in getting airsoft into Lenlock Hobbies. We also have an OP coming up. Sooo, I would like for someone to volunteer, or several folks to volunteer, to take over the planning and execution of the organizational meeting. We have a date, time, and general plan, but it would help alot if someone would nail the items for discussion down(not on forum here, but to present point by point for voting and ratification) what procedure of voting and ratification is to be used, and so forth. I will be more than glad to consult through PM on any aspect of the meeting, but due to time constraints, and the importence this meeting holds for the sport/thingee of airsoft in Alabama,
I nominate Ben and Mateba of Steel City as organizers and agenda coordiantors, with Ettherrider as local liason to help set up the meeting place, and be placed in charge of safety rules.
Anyone else that wants to volunteer, nominate, or second someone, speak up.
Thanks all M

Rgr that. I think I should be free June 2nd as far as I know.
Were we still thinking of Weaver as the meeting place ? or Montgomery ? Matt and I can decide on a place, but I forgot what city we talked about earlier.
