OK just to let everyone know we now have an official name MACSOG our web address is www.macsog.net I am still in the process of developing the site but i feel its time that the team goes mainstream we are eager to play and look forward to playing with everyone we can and look forward to doing some ops with ya'll if its ok i would like to link to these forums and lets see if we can't formulate some kind of state roster, mateba that sounds like a very good idea. also consider this MACSOG's formal request for for a team board vauxhall out.

Good news, good news. I would like to take it a step further and see what you guys think. If we could form a state roster, do you think all the teams on a roster could come to concensus on rules? It would make traveling between different fields easier if there was a standard we could all live with. Nothing super formal, just a loose confederation of player motivated fields sharing a rules set.
Vaux, I think Shootist will have a small problem with the team request. His puter is down and out, may be a few days before he gets his shite together.
Any chance of you guys making it to the op in Anniston on the 25th? Always welcome more folks.

i'm all up for the idea having a standardized system for play would be great perhaps if we start making it happen the the sport would grow instead of it being everyone doing thier own thing. in order for any sport to grow and be taken seriously there has to be recognized rules of play. i have been to many different fields in GA and playing with buddies from all over but the one thing that remains; 1. varied fps limits on our weapons 2. safety equipment - i understand at bare minimum full seal goggles are a must but full face masks are a pain when it comes to peripheral vision 3. people have asked me how do you know when someone has been hit - my reply with airsoft we have always played with the honor system and for the most from my experiences this is true. but i have just shot the hell out of someone till they yelled bloody murder then they called out hit those are the hree major things in the sport that i have noticed that are not standardized and vary from game to game. As far as how do we know when someone has been hit, i personally like shooting the hell out of someone till they call hit ahh inflicting as much pain with my dragunov as i can fella's i'm a sadist to a point i guess. i want to pass on a website i go to regularly and perhaps everyone already knows about it, it is www.officialusasocmagazine.com/at the end of the mag are lists of teams thoughout the country guess what no AL teams are listed. speaking for MACSOG i want airsoft to be seen with the same eyes as paintball but untill we as a community can lay down the basics for the sport we will not be seen as a serious sport. i want there to airsoft fields as there are paintball fields. nice dream right? wrong lets get together and make this a reality for all of us email me if any questions or anything else vauxhall@macsog.net

I agree completely. And you know what, the recent events down at dave's combat ranch and in birmingham, make me feel like we are on our way to our dream. I think once the course is built at daves then it will be the best course in Alabama, and when the store opens, it will be the first store to exist in Alabama. I think we are getting closer.

Another motivating factor to push something like this through.
We need a firm, united voice when the time comes to fight legislation restricting the sale and purchase of airsoft guns. I see the day soon, because the stuff you see on the news is ALWAYS negative when it comes to airsoft. So, think about that also.
If we get serious about a state wide confederation, then we need to have a convention. Simply stated, we need to meet face to face, and hold a meeting to determine the subjects that will arise. It will be open to any airsoft player who would like to attend, but each team will send two delegates for the rules determination comittee. We should set an agenda, move through the items on the agenda, and basically come to agreement. I just fill this would be better done face to face, and it would everyone the chance to put faces with names.
So, if we can determine a time and place to meet, we can hammer out all of the details. Now, I know of a great place outside of Montgomery we could meet called Fort Toulouse. Camping is cheap, power, water, grills at every camp. Bath house and such, and it is in the middle of the state. We would need to reserve the campsites, and we could have a day and a half meeting. Montgomery is technically the middle of the state, so I feel it would be a good spot.
So, my first proposal is that we should contact the leaders of each team on the roster, and ask them to select two delegates. The team leader and one other.
Secondly, someone should volunteer as a scribe. That way, each person can share thier ideas of agenda items, and we can edit them down into one coherant list for consideration by the delegates as whole.
Suggestions? Please speak up everyone, I feel this is extremely important to the sport.
