Oh and can you add in a rule that says you must be this tall to shoot this rifle? No one should have a rifle longer than they are tall...

I know nothing of MEDs but from what I have read on other sites AEGs=400FPS @25-30' Snipers=530-550 @45-60' SAWs=410-450 @30-45' I'm not to sure on the SAWs. But once again I know nothing of MEDs for the fact I have yet to play.

Well, at this point it seems like we are smashing to bits what was decided in the meeting. We are halfway back to starting from scratch.

On the topic about the medic, on some link on this site, i saw a great idea for medic. Each player has a rope with 5 or so knots in it, when they die the medic has to untie the knots. Ever since I have seen that I have thought it was agreat idea.

My 2 cents:
I was at the meeting. I helped come up with the AAV guidelines v.1
If you have not played with this current rule set yet, then you do not get to give your opinion. Don't knock it until you have tried it. Period.
Is that too harsh ?

well since you seem to be speaking for everyone......not that mongo hasn't said he wanted to keep this thread rolling for more input on the proposed rule set......and that he was uncomfortable with some of the FPS limits...and since he's the one with the responsibility as organizer......
....the rules set you put forth is pretty much the same rules the field has had since i first went there in sept. of last year, so we all have played under them if we've been to the field at all....so yes ,we get to have an opinion. the reason safety issues are being raised,at least by me ,is to try and minimize any chances of stuff happening that may get a player hurt, get any of the nice folks i've met there sued or get the field that i like closed down.....the safety issues are the things that i have had to work the most at in my time in this hobby .....that's my motivation here.....

Keep it rolling, there are no absolutes here, and we DID ask for the more experienced players input. Thanks 6

Well, at this point it seems like we are smashing to bits what was decided in the meeting. We are halfway back to starting from scratch. Not really Rook, we are just adjusting. What are we discussing? FPS and MED. It needs to be discussed, so don't take the attitude we are starting from scratch. Just discussion at this point. M

That's fine. it was too harsh. we did ask for opinions. i accept that.
however, if this rule set has been the way it has been since the weaver games have started, and there hasn't been any real huge complaints (at least none that i know of), why the fuss ? (in general i mean)

The incidents that happend a month or so ago (at Op ID) to two of my teammates was a fairly serious complaint. One inidivdual had a tooth shot out and a nasty face wound. I am fairly certain this was due more to people not recognizing MED's than anything the other had worked his way in with the OPFOR milled around with them for a few minutes they still did not notice he was not on thier side. He offered for them to just go ahead and take the hit and they opened up on him under a decent MED with a few explatives thrown his way to boot. We didn't blow up and freak out, but we took the two safety issues seriously. Mongo seemed to take them seriously as well. Mongo says you are having quite a few missing teeth incidents lately as well, that seems pretty serious. So something must not be working quite right. Is the problem related to people not recognizing MED's or not caring about MED's? Is it a small minority of players that are causing this?
The one incident I had with an individual with not calling his hits was taken care of quickly and wasn't very serious, more silly than anything I thought. However this individual made an interesting comment to someone else he shot out. I'm paraphrasing but. he said as he laid into someone. "you like that? Feels good huh?" Now that is perhaps indicitive of someone that enjoys causing someone else pain. Do you maybe have more than one of these sorts that doesn't care or even likes when he hurts someone? I have mostly stayed out of this conversation till recently.

The most recent tooth incident happened under proper med regulations. They knew what they were doing, playing in the cqb. And now if you are under 350 anywhere you go you are going to be in close combat, so if you are worried about you teeth wear a mask. Its your responsibility to protect your own teeth. Everybody is forewarned of that hazard, and as someone stated earlier even a low fps gun can shoot out teeth so I dont beleive it has been a lack of upholding MED its just been bad luck. Nobody shoots teeth out on purpose, I think that is just something we are going to have to accept as part of the game and if you are worrying about it wear a mouth piece or something.

I have heard quite of few stories of the taunting and swearing between the players at OP ID. I would have had a problem being there but apparently the smack was both ways. charleynovember, we have instated a new rule that should help this problem. All players are responsible for misconduct around them. Veteran players more than newbs but in either case if you witness any unfavorable you can stop the game and correct the problem before it gets bigger. All players are considered "player/refs." The majority of injuries will occur in CQB. NO MEDs with full-auto 350FPS. If you play CQB without face protection and ear protection you are just asking for it. Rook, outside CQB all airsoft guns have a MED. Pistols @ 10', AEGs @ 30', anything beyond 350FPS follows as normal.

that will work about as well as the whole "calling yourself and the other problem player out" thing has in the last year and a half.....not well...if everyone is in charge and making calls than no one is....as for the tooth incidents....you guys have had more injuries at the field in the last few months than all the GA fields combined...so there is a problem somewhere.telling folks to cowboy up and get a facemask/mouth piece isn't going to solve this....

Oh I can't resist it!!!! Does this mean we get to sue the rules committee for injuries and damages? LOL Just kidding since work kept me from being at the meeting!!!! Sorry....couldn't resist it with all the talk about safety and so forth. Personally, I am working on all my guns to get them below 350. I figure 330 is about the right place to be. I will keep my bolt sniper at the 500 or so mark and my new RPK will be at about 350 or so as well. I think the overall conversation is very healthy and can/could be productive. I haven't even started in with my go to low/mid cap mags only speeches yet!!!!!! (although I think I am about to make a personal switch to low/mids)
